SO. READY. FOR. SUMMER.

I know I can't complain because I've spent this past winter in LA, but as I pack my bags to leave for Boston (then Amsterdam) on Monday, I have to admit I'm a little apprehensive to touch down in snow and rain territory.

I'm going to miss a lot of sun in the months to come, so I thought I'd go out with an anti-winter bang. Here are a few stills from my last days in the ever-sunny bliss that is Southern California.

Next time I post, I'll be doing so from Amsterdam. :)

Wish me luck!

Off Duty Adventures

Over the past several months, I have had the great fortune of working across the globe and spending extended periods living overseas. Now, as I unpack my suitcase and prepare to take a respite from this exhilarating yet exhausting lifestyle, I am reflecting on all of the experiences I've had and the friendships I've made.

Looking back, I can confidently say that my favorite adventure abroad was my month in Mexico City. Despite the lack of gas, electricity, and other amenities during various points in my stay, the charm of the Mexican culture and the company with whom I shared it made the trip a continuous source of unforgettable memories.

On my last day, I traveled with friends/roomies/fellow models Madison, Taylor, and Caroline to Los Piramides de Teotihuacan, where we spent the day climbing ancient Meso-American ruins and enjoying coconut treats from local merchants.

Below are a few mementos from this treasured day.

Climbing the pyramids was one of those things that looks impossible from the get go, but as soon as you reach that last step, you get an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.

NYC Life: Lounging at the Dream with Lera

Hello blogosphere--I'm back!

It's been a crazy few months of changes and transitions for me. Since moving to New York in January to further pursue modeling, I have survived two fashion weeks, travelled across Europe, and worked tireless hours in front of the lens.

It's been an exciting adventure, but I've certainly missed having my finger on the shutter button and creating my own photographic work. These coming months, I plan to spend more time taking my own snaps and growing photographically as I simultaneously travel for modeling.

In the meantime, I have attached a few images that I find very emblematic of my journey to NY. These photos were taken when my best friend Lera and I first came to visit Manhattan in January, and I began toying with the idea of moving out here for good! We stayed at the Dream Downtown and couldn't resist the opportunity to play around with the beautiful window light. Hope to have some more updates soon! xo

Hey look, I got mail!

This week, I was pleasantly surprised to discover an envelope from the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar in my mailbox. As it turns out, I won an award in the "Pictorial" category of their 2013 photojournalism contest for my photo of a cat crouching on a kolam in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.

Kolams are powder floor drawings, used to bless homes in South India. The kolam in my photo was drawn outside of the kitchen hut on a family farm where I learned to fry delicious dosas and cook some incredible curries. I am so honored to have my photo selected as a pictorial winner, and to be able to share a piece of my adventure with others.

You can check out more winning photos from the entire contest here.

In other news, I'll be updating this site soon with my work from November, including a new photo documentary along with several lifestyle shoots.

All the best,

Robin

Bummin' it with Megan Fay

Meet Megan Fay, lover of bacon and master of the double-chin selfie.

For years I've modeled along side Megan at American Apparel, but last week I finally had the opportunity to step behind the lens and shoot her myself!

We had a blast playing around in my studio and then venturing around town to shoot at a local laundromat. She is such a goofball and yet there is something so majestic about her. I wanted our photos to explore that duality.

More soon to come! x
